The original Hikaru died after unsuccessfully trying to rescue someone from suicide. The android Hikaru (code name B. JW2260 MCHINA), while looking very similar to the original and acting like he loves Torao, still has trouble understanding certain emotions such as Torao mourning his parents. The android Hikaru goes missing after using all of his resources to protect Torao from a dangerous sandstorm, barely saving his life.
